Brenda M. Buchanan's Personal Statement I believe that there needs to be better communication between the school board and the community. I want to work with the board to provide our children with a comprehensive education in a safe environment that will allow them to be competitive in a 21st century world. But I feel we should balance those opportunities with the advantages living in a small town offers to our children. As one of a five person board, I don't think that you can always do what is best for the district if you're pursuing personal issues. And that's why I don't have a special agenda of things I'd like to accomplish as a board member.
