Vote Columbia Station
Lou Price's Biography
(Source: Lou Price)
My life has taken me in many directions; however, it began in Avon, Ohio where I graduated in 1964. Prior to joining the Navy in 1967 I attended college in California and Ohio focusing on business. After eight years in the military I took a job in New York City with TNT Communications that gave me the opportunity to work at the Merchant Marine Academy. Although the experience and training received at TNT was invaluable I found that New York City was too fast paced for my lifestyle and I accepted a position at Gilford Instrument Laboratories in Oberlin. Within a few years The FAA offered me a job at Cleveland Hopkins Airport where spent the next 24 years working my way to Assistant Manager and Manager at Akron/Canton airport. At the age of 55 I retired in December, 2001.
I have a number of interests one of which is woodworking. Most of my free time is spent with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Eight years ago I got involved with the Chamber and now I am Vice President. I love learning about the township and finding ways to improve the quality of services offered. During this time I was also one of the founders of the Columbia Community Foundation.
My wife, Nancy, and I lived in North Ridgeville before building our home in Columbia Station in 1999 in the Redfern Farms Subdivision. Nancy has been a residential Real Estate Appraiser for the past 18 years. Her service areas are Lorain, Cuyahoga and northern Medina counties. I help her in any capacity she needs from taking pictures, accompanying her to properties, data input and final inspections.
I feel that with my government background and the knowledge gained with the Chamber and listening to the needs of the residents makes me qualified to lead Columbia in the right direction. There are many issues on the table in our township and selecting the options that are most beneficial is the key to success.
My goal for Columbia Station is to provide our township with a Community and Senior Center for the enjoyment of all residents as well as a possible revenue source for the CCOC scholarship funding program.
I want to lead Columbia Station into the future and with your help and my strong dedication to the community, Columbia will continue to be a great place to call home.
I ask for your vote on November 3rd.
Thank you,
Lou
