Mike Musto's Biography
(Source: Mike Musto)

My name is Mike Musto, and I live at 16449 South Boone Rd.  I have lived in the Cleveland and Lorain areas all my life.  I was born in Cleveland in November, 1953.  My family moved to Westlake in 1962.  After we married my wife and I moved to Lorain in 1975, North Ridgeville in 1979, and Olmsted Twp in 1985. Finally in 1999 my family moved to Columbia Township.  I have been married for 34 years to a wonderful woman named Cindy.  We have two children Jennifer and Amy, and three very special grandchildren Julia, Nathan and McKenna.

Cindy was involved in horses when I started dating her. When we decided to get married, I promised her a farm in Columbia Township. We worked for many years to be able to live in Columbia Township. In 1995 we were very fortunate to find the property on South Boone and we purchased it.  Our home was built in 1999 and our horse facilities were completed in 2001.

We continue to enjoy our time on the farm and our life in Columbia. It is important to us to preserve “Columbia’s Charm” and its rural atmosphere.  My wife and I talked about this goal and we felt the best way to achieve that vision was to become a Trustee. I hope the community will grow with this goal in mind.

I graduated from Westlake High School in 1972 and completed college courses at LCCC which focused on business and accounting.  I have completed many professional development courses with AmeriSpec Inspection, BP Oil, Sunoco, and ProCare. These include business training courses focusing on customer relations, detailing taxes, liabilities, accounting and company operations.  I also hold certifications for American Society of Home Inspectors, mold testing and State of Ohio for Radon testing. All of this training is directly related to the duties of a trustee.

Throughout my life I have owned my own businesses.  I have made decisions that impacted my financial future many times and have been blessed with success. I’ve owned service stations, convenient stores, an equestrian lesson facility and a home inspection business. During these times I have had to work with the public, city officials, zoning inspectors, franchisors and employees.  I have had over fifty employees to manage at one time and have managed a ten million dollar a year business in my career.
